At the border to Canada, the Canadian officer asked if we were carrying any alcohol or firearms. I told him about three fingers of tequila in a bottle. I guess it was enough. They let us in.
This was Quebec and everything immediately became French. All signs on the road laughed at my choice of Spanish in High School. All discussion around us was in French. When people started talking to us, they started in French. Sometimes that’s all they had. It’s always amusing to me when I get to communicate without a common language. You and they try to say things simpler, but still in the same language. Eventually it’s like a silly game a charades, complete with smiles and giggles.
It became clear that Canada is a much more awesome place than the US. I mean… Look at this sign!
I saw this in just a couple miles(several km?). Holy crap! I could ride an ATV to work?! In Texas I would get arrested. Here in Canada? Hop on your bad Polaris and ride, eh!
Shortly after we saw this sign.
“Hey Jenny! Look for the reindeer!! It’s sure to be in 2 km!”
When we hit a city, you really get the sense of how cool they are.
In Texas it’s always be careful here, and don’t go to fast there. Here in Canada? Drive it like it’s hot in the OC!

I kinda read that first sign as ‘off road shoes needed ahead’
I can see it… I also see really comfy sandals with a broken sole… eh?
