We briefly stopped at a visitor center when we crossed the Mississippi river.

We stopped to visit the Petrified Forest. I was unable to wrap my little brain around the age of the wood. It’s really, really, really old.
After looking at dead wood, we continued onto Roosevelt State Park. It’s a beautiful park and rather large. My only complaint is lack of maps. I guess TX state parks have spoiled me with their maps containing easy to read detailed information. Click on the picture for more information.
